The Will County Land Use Department is part of the County's full-time professional staff and is responsible for administrating and enforcing adopted ordinances relating to new and existing development within the County. All petitions for County Board review having to do with the use of land are processed through the Land Use Department.

The purpose of the Will County Land Use Department is to regulate the use of land and guide development in the unincorporated areas of the County. Although each division performs separate functions, every effort is made to coordinate activities to best serve the residents of Will County.

Will County is currently experiencing unprecedented population and development growth. The Will County Land Use Department is dedicated to ensuring that the residents of Will County experience the benefits of this growth while minimizing any negative impact.
